I think we missed the point of my posting. My point here is that I have learned you can't trust anyone if there is a little bit of money to be made. No matter who they are my experiance is when it comes to money you cannot trust anyone.

Do you trust a JW when it comes to $$$$?
by William Penwell inwell i thought there was one thing i could count on with my ex jw wife and that was she would not go back on her word.
to make a long story short, after we were separated and i signed off on the marriage, my ex gave me her word that she would not go after my pension.
well a few years later guess what?

Sorry to hear about your pension W.P. That's gotta hurt ! Isn't there a way to prove she made that verbal agreement? Especially since she is going after our pension a few years after the fact. Wouldn't she have done that in the beginning unless some other agreement, verbal or otherwise, had been made such as the one you described ? It seems like an Attorney might be able to prove this in court somehow.
I have talked to a lawyer and without getting into specifics, he told me there is not much I can do. He said maybe if you want to pursue it in a court of law and you get her in front of a judge admitting to the verbal agreement, you maybe able to win but if you lose you could get stuck with all the court costs etc. Just shows me how hypocritcal these people are. Most never put away for the future retirement as they were too busy banging on doors, like my ex. but when they can see now that they have nothing in their old age to fall back on, guess who gets the bite? Guys like myself that worked hard all their lives just to support some BS society. I really have no use for the whole lot of lying SOB.

If she was using the money for something sensible like food and clothing the bite wouldn't be as bad but you know that it will go to further the work of the International Pedo Society.

Were you ever embarrassed or somewhat ashamed when the WT patted themselves on the back in their own articles?
by miseryloveselders ini was browsing through the december 2010 awake, and noticed an article on the earthquake that happened in haiti earlier this year.
it didn't take long for the article to disturb me.
the third paragraph initiated the sanctimonious tone that is present througout the article.

The JW philosophy is:
Watchtower=Food
Awake=Medical Aid

Well you guest it, she phones me all apologetic and tells me that things have changed that she is making a claim against my pension. The lesson learned here is I trust no one's word when it comes to $$$$, even a good JW CHRISTIAN..... Thoughts or experiences people?

500 Hundred Alien Planets -- Wow !
by Rabbit ini know this doesn't have anything 'jw' about it, but, i think it's pretty cool.
our universe -- is really, really...big !.
life is out there - somewhere.

I believe there is life on other planets but I question that they have already visited us. The planets with life would be so far away and inless their are more advanced than us, they would not have the technology to come here. Also the chance of life on other planets looking humaniod would be very small.

Ground Zero Mosque
by minimus indo you agree that there should not be a mosque in the area that was wiped out by muslim extremists?
on the view, it was discussed with bill o'reilly and the ladies of the view.
joy behar and whoopie flipped because bill said "muslims" were responsible for the carnage there and it would not be appropriate for a mosque in that area.. what do you think?.
-
William Penwell
As a free society, they should be allowed to put a Mosque where ever they want to but on the other hand I think that the American Muslims have to be sensitive to this issue and not push the it.

does anyone remember the book called
"things in which it is impossible for god to lie"?
or did i imagine it?
what an inspiring title
which begs the question
what were the things in which He did lie?
Yes I think I still have a copy of that book at home. It has a green cover.

Children of 1975
by d inwhat was it like to live in the 1950's 1960's and early 70's as a jehovah witness.when they started to push the 1975 date..

I do recall the mid 60's to 1975 and the hype was there at that time. My brother who is 10 years older than myself claims that they were referring to 1975 even in the late 50's, although I believe about 10% of what my brother tells me. My recollection was studying with a good JW in around 1973-74 and all he could talk about is how us young ones will not even graduate in this system. The push was on and instead of putting my efforts into a higher education, I quiet high school and went into the full time preaching work. Than 1975 went by and the GB denial by blaming the rank and file members of setting the date. That pretty much did me in with the JW lie.

Sorry to have posted on an old posting but I was telling someone the other day about the old Paradise book and how scary it was for me as a young boy. I was trying to find the picture of Abraham when has the knife over top of his son Isaac and in the process of killing his son and Jehovah intervened. This story never made any sense to myself at 5 years old. I recall my grandmother saying that it OK for Jehovah to test us but not for us humans to test each other. It didn't make sense then as is still does to this day. I like the time on Family Guy when they refer to this incident and you see Abraham and Isaac walking down the mountain and Isaac saying to his father, "What the hell was that all about ?".
